Pre-Thanksgiving Thanks

So around this time of year is when you are supposed to think of everything that you are grateful for. I was thinking in the shower of how blessed both Chris and I are and wanted to share some of the many things that we are grateful for.
-Gospel of the Church
-Family, with out their support we wouldn't be here today.
-Chris getting an awesome Internship at a CPA Accounting firm, with the chance that he might be hired on full time.
-Chris getting a high score on his GMAT so that he can get into the Masters of Accounting Program at Weber State.
-Me still having a job in a housing market that is a little scary right now.
-Friends that are so much fun to hang out with at any time and any age.
-Being able to live in a country where we are able to enjoy the little things- driving a car, going to school, and worshiping how we feel is right.
-Having a place to live with heat and water.
-Being able to enjoy a dinner and movie with each other.
-A spouse that will love and understand you no matter how crazy you may sound at times.
-Someone to laugh at all the same things as you, even if they really aren't that funny, but to you they are hilarious.
-Cute little babies that are so cuddly- Two sisters are having babies and I am sooooo excited.
-Food to eat on Thanksgiving and every other day of the year.
Just a small list of all the things that I/we are grateful for. Hope everyone has a HAPPY THANKSGIVING. It is in the top two of my favorite holidays. :)

Salmon Trip Pics

So Chris and I went to Salmon this summer and I am just now getting to posting them. Yes I am a slacker- but it took a while to actually download them from the camera.
Enjoy!

We stayed the first night of our trip in Lava Hot Springs. It was really fun, we floated this little river that goes right through the town and we had a couples massage. I think that I can totally talk him into it again. Then we got to float in the Mineral pools that were right outside out hotel in the yard. It was great.

Here is a view of the room- it was not the nicest. But I made sure that we had the huge jacuzzi tub (a must) and if you look closely you can see the nook where the toilet was (along the back wall to the right). Yes it was all in one room. So whoever was on the bed could see the person's knees who was using the comode at anytime of the day. Lovely.

This is Chris and Aidan my sisters Stacie's son. He is so freakin' cute.

Here is Erik being the HULK! Can you tell with the jammies.

Aunt Linds and Erik and Aidan. How can you resist those faces?! Expecially when the mistakenly call you Mama. :)

This is what the boys did everytime we were near water- Throw rocks.

The rock throwing didn't help Chris catch any fish- but he had a little buddy near by to cheer him up.

Chris being eater by the Grizzly bear.

Me kissing the Salmon salmon.

The wild goats on the side of the road.

Even though it was a crazy long drive it was worth the beautiful scenery and seeing my sister, her kids and husband and her cute house. This is from their back porch. We ate dinner outside almost every night. It was perfect.

This is looking down on the town of Salmon. They are so high on the hill we saw a few deer in the back yard while we were watching the Olympics on TV.

Chris and I wanted to be the robots from the Year 2000- from Flight of the Conchords. I thought that we didn't too bad considering we made the costumes ourselves

Chris was Jemain and I was Brett.

We're doing the Robot and the Robo-boogie, Yes Affirmative.

Me ripping off Chris's head and Arms. I am Strong!

Is it Just Me?!

So I recently got my hair done. I love it when you go and you get the new color and the hair wash and they do it all cute. Then a week later you see split ends!!!! How is it that I just spent $70 on a cut and a color and I can see a split end on a single hair?! Granted I did say that I just wanted a trim (I am trying to grow my hair back out) but that does not mean you barely do the job. I have shaved more hair off my legs- sorry for those reading this that are grossed out. But I had to make a point. Man, I just needed to vent. I was just hoping that I wasn't the only one that got jipped out of a "real" haircut.
Thanks for letting me clear my head.

My New Favorite!

Can I tell you that I love Red Mango. It is the BEST! I have gone there about 4 times in that many weeks. I went with my dear roommates from college and I am now an addict. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think that a twist( original and Green Tea) with mangos, strawberries and the wierd Korean rice marshmallow woudl really just hit the spot. Yes, that is the combo that I get most of the time.
If you don't know what Red Mango is- it is an all natural frozen yogurt. You are probably thinking of the twist cones that you get from artic circle but this is worlds better. It actually tastes like yogurt and it is fat free, has live active cultures that help with digestion, and all sorts of other beneficial stuff. So when you do eat it- you don't think that 10 minutes of deliciousness is going straight to your booty.
If you haven't gone I will definitely go with you on your maiden voyage- just let me know so I can come down to Salt Lake. It's by the target in Fort Union.
Don't take my word on it- so you should try it. CALL ME IF YOU DO!
P.S. Chris even likes it. And he is kinda picky about sweets. I mean look at the pictire- How can that not look good!?!?

Midnight Sun

So I am not sure who all have been reading the Twilight Books, but I have. And they are so addicting! I was going to let all you readers know that there has been BIG news. It has been announced that since there was a leak a Midnight Sun draft (Twilight from Edward's perspective) on the internet Stephenie Meyer has put the book on hold indefinitely. And since she didn't want to have people go and find it illegally on the internet she has posted the copy that was leaked on her website. ALL 264 PAGES. Well you can go and download it and read it. It wouldn't have been the final copy but it is still fun and may I mention FREE. So if you are interested here is the link
http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/midnightsun_partialdraft2.pdf

If that does not work then you go to her website
stepheniemeyer.com and the twilight series tab, then midnight sun and there is a link on the page somewhere (about half way down). So Enjoy! I have been! I am not that far so make sure that you don't spoil it.

And another happy thing - the movie is coming out on my birthday! Soooo, that means that I get to pick the movie- Twilight, here I come. It will be Enchanted all over again!
p.s.- that date on the poster/picture that I posted is wrong- it really is supposed to be the 21st.

Where Has Summer Gone!

I am so sad that the summer is more that half gone. I have only used the pool at my apartment 3 times! What the Crap! What is wrong with me! I will tell you. I used to give Chris crap for not having time last summer to hang out with me and to do what ever I wanted - he was taking summer classes hence no time for anything besides work and school. How the pot is calling the kettle black.
I am working full time and going to school part time and I don't have enough time in the week to get everything done so that I am not rushing to get it done before the deadline, and sometimes after the deadline- but only by a dew days. Hey! At least I turn it in. Gone are the days of doing what I wanted. Laying out for hours at a time and when I got home from work. Weeksdays and Saturdays full on mindless reading of Criminal Justice ( a credit filler class) and trying to make English papers not so boring ( 2010 for the SECOND TIME!). But I am happy to report that all the hard work is paying off and I will pass both classes with flying colors! Go ME!
So I guess that my tan can suffer for a summer. You can bet your butt that I will be out at the pool next year enjoying every minute of it.

HO HO HO, Green Giant.

We went and saw THE HULK! I thought that it was pretty good. I went in thinking that it was going to be so dumb, since the last one was one of the dumbest movies that I have seen (and I have seen my fair share- Dragon Wars, Anyone???) I was pleasantly surprised. I won't give too much away- other than he dies in the end. JUST KIDDING. I would go and enjoy as you would any other comic based movie and enjoy it for what it is- A Summer Blockbuster!

My Color

Take this test!
You're green, the color of growth and vigor. Good-hearted and giving, you have a knack for finding and bringing out the best in people. Green is the most down-to-earth color in the spectrum — reliable and trustworthy. People know they can count on you to be around in times of need, since your concern for people is genuine and sincere. You take pride in being a good friend. For you, success is measured in terms of personal achievement and growth, not by status or position. Rare as emeralds, greens are wonderful, natural people. It truly is your color!

I actually really like the color Green. It is one of my favorites! Now- How to convince Chris that I need an Emerald! ;)

Nick and Natalie Wedding - May 17, 2008

When Chris and his friends met he was not a member of the church and I don't think that talking about religion was on the top of their list (I'll spare you all the details, but you can ask Chris anytime. They are really entertaining.) Well, when all of Chris's friends started to get ready to go on missions his friend, Nick, really wanted to get Chris interested in the Church. So Oct. 2000 conference came around and he told Chris that he should watch it
Saturday morning there was nothing on t.v. so Chris started to watch conference.  He said that it felt like every talk was read directly to him. He started the discussions with the missionaries and was baptized Nov. 4, 2000,  served a mission to Ukraine from 2002-2004.
Fast forward to November 2005 where I was working with Nick at Zions Bank. He told me about a friend that he thought that I would like- and here we are.  Who knew?!
So we really owe Nick - that is why we got Lagoon season passes with him and his new wife. Jealous? Yeah, I thought so.

Last time this was done at the temple,
Nick ended up with split pants. Hence him standing
in the back. Ha!
I told him that I would have one kids middle name be Nicholas since he gave me the eternal family. Small price to pay. I'll make sure that it is the runt of the fam. Just Kidding!
Congrats Nick and Nat. See ya on THE BAT!

Enter the Dahlins to the World of Blogging

So since all my friends it seems have blogs and Chris's friends have talked about doing one- I guess that this is the way of the future. I don't have any super cute kids of my own to share lots of pictures of.....that being said, you will see a lot of nephews, nieces, and anyone else I feel so inclined to share about.

Chris and I met by his friend setting us up on a complete blind date. He thought that I was chubby since I had a lower voice for a girl. Good thing that I wasn't or it might not have gone much further than a dinner at the Spaghetti Factory. We got engaged 3
months later and then another 6 horrendously long months later we were married. I would never tell anyone to be engaged for that long EVER. We lived in Sugarhouse for 4 months while Chris finished his last semester at the U of U and then transfered up to Weber where we are now living and somehow both going to school. Chris and I have been in Ogden for a year and a half. How the time flies. We live in an apartment almost directly across the street from Weber State University. And I am not kidding when I say that they are called The Apartments. Yes, The Apartments. I love that we live so close to campus, that means that Chris gets his daily dose of almost losing his life when he has to cross 6 lanes of kamikaze traffic to obtain his higher education, and we don't have to pay for parking, Silver Lining anyone?

Chris actually just graduated and now is doing his Masters in the fall. 3 short semesters away from not being students anymore and now we will have to be real adults. Isn't that when you are supposed to buy a house, buy a car that is more than $150 a mo., have a child and a half, plus a family pet? Holy Crap! We are way behind. Good thing people are living longer there days.

Well, here we are entering the world of blogging, all my friends are doing it so I should right? What is that age old saying..... If your friends jumped off a bridge would you?
Yes? Then come on in the water is just fine!

Our Life Together......So far
